Why this site exists
Wisconsin Sportsbooks covers one state and one question: where Wisconsin sports betting actually stands, as opposed to where the headlines put it. Wisconsin authorised statewide online sports betting on 9 April 2026 and no legal online sportsbook has taken a bet since. That gap is the entire subject.
Two kinds of reader end up here. One has seen that Wisconsin legalised online betting and wants to know which app to download, and the honest answer is that there is not one yet. The other already knows that and wants to understand what is reaching Wisconsin in the meantime, which means offshore operators, daily fantasy, prediction markets and a drive to a tribal sportsbook. We try to be useful to both without flattering either.
What we will not do to make the second answer sound better
The offshore books we rank are not licensed in Wisconsin and we say so above the ranking rather than below it. We do not describe them as regulated, we do not call them safe, and we do not imply that Act 247 made them legal here. If that costs us a click from somebody who wanted permission instead of information, it is the right trade.
How we check things
The method is documentary and it is set out in full, weightings included, in how we rate. Operator figures come from our lineup and our bonus source with a date on every row. Legal and regulatory statements come from a fact sheet built for this site, where each entry carries its own source, and anything we could not source is either absent or marked as unverified on the page itself. That is why the retail section names venues and stops, and why one operator appears with no welcome offer at all.
How we make money
Some links here are commercial. If you open an account through one, the operator may pay us a commission, and it costs you nothing extra. That is what pays for the site and it is disclosed at the foot of every page.
What it does not do is buy position. Rankings come from the published criteria, operators do not see reviews before publication, and an operator whose terms get worse falls. The most direct evidence is on the money page: the operator with the longest restricted-state list in the lineup is reviewed under a heading that says exactly that, and the one with no published offer is reviewed as having none.
What we will not publish
- A launch date for Wisconsin's tribal sportsbooks, because none has been set.
- A withdrawal time, a line-quality comparison or a betting limit nobody measured.
- A revenue-share percentage presented as fact when its provenance is disputed.
- A claim that any operator is safe or guaranteed, or that offshore betting is licensed in Wisconsin.
- A per-property tribal sportsbook roster we did not verify property by property.
Responsible gambling
Everything here is written for adults of 21 or over betting money they can afford to lose. If that has stopped being true, our responsible gambling page sets out the account controls, the self-exclusion routes and the free helplines, including Wisconsin's own.
